Why make time for it

Lighter-feeling legs.
A rhythm for recovery.

Long days on your feet and hard training both make recovery worth prioritizing. Normatec surrounds your chosen area with air-filled chambers that pulse and release, creating a moving squeeze that works like an external assist to the body’s natural muscle pump.

01

Circulation support

Muscle contractions normally help push blood back through the veins. Sequential compression applies pressure from outside the limb, then releases it. That changing pressure supports venous movement while you sit back and take the weight off your feet.

02

Lymphatic fluid movement

The lymphatic system returns excess fluid from tissues to circulation. Intermittent external pressure can assist that movement, which is why lymphatic drainage appears in discussions of compression. The experience is a mechanical pressure-and-release cycle around your chosen area.

03

Relief for heavy, tired legs

If standing leaves your legs feeling heavy or uncomfortable, compression offers more than simply sitting still. Research in standing workers found greater relief of leg discomfort with pneumatic compression than rest—a useful connection to everyday life outside sport.

04

A way to unwind after training

The moving squeeze feels like a hands-free massage for tired limbs. Runners, cyclists, and gym regulars use it to make their recovery time more comfortable while remaining completely at rest. Choose pressure that feels good throughout the session.

05

Focus where you need it

Leg boots cover the feet through the upper legs; arm sleeves bring compression to the upper limbs; the hip attachment surrounds the hip and lower-back area. The different attachments let you choose a focus for the day rather than a single fixed experience.

06

Recovery without another demand

There is nothing to perform and no exercise to complete. Relax for fifteen or thirty minutes while the system cycles automatically. It is a gentle way to give your body attention during a busy week or finish a longer Awaken visit.

People on their feet all day

Teachers, nurses, stylists, hospitality teams, and retail workers know the feeling of tired legs. Compression creates a seated recovery break after a standing-heavy day.

Runners, cyclists & gym regulars

Use the attachments to focus on the areas you have been working. A session offers an adjustable massage-like experience alongside the rest, food, and sleep in your recovery routine.

Travelers & desk-based workers

After long periods sitting, some guests want a dedicated moment to move and unwind. Ask the team whether compression suits your circumstances and preferred area.

Guests choosing a gentler experience

No intense cold or sauna heat is involved. Settle into adjustable compression if you want a quieter physical experience today.

The Awaken difference

Choose your focus.
Feel the sequence.

Normatec’s controlled air system fits around your chosen area, inflates, pulses, and releases. The team handles the attachments and helps you choose a comfortable intensity.

02

Dynamic, adjustable pressure

Unlike a static compression sock, the system changes pressure in a programmed sequence. Settings let you tailor the squeeze to comfort rather than chasing the strongest level.

03

A short visit or a longer finish

Choose a fifteen-minute session from $20 or thirty minutes from $30. Come just for compression or add a seated recovery stop to your time at Awaken.

Inside the technology

Pressure with
a rhythm.

Air-filled attachments create a repeating pattern of pressure and release. Normatec turns that sequence into an adjustable, hands-free recovery experience.

01 / The system

Air chambers create the rhythm.

Normatec attachments contain separate inflatable zones. The controller fills and releases these zones in a programmed pattern rather than holding one unchanging squeeze. As the pattern moves along the attachment, you feel a series of pulses. The pressure comes from air inside the garment; there are no rollers pushing against the skin.

02 / The cycle

Compression assists the return journey.

When you walk, contracting muscles help move venous blood back toward the heart. Pneumatic compression provides an external pressure cycle while you sit. Inflation presses on tissue and vessels; the release interval allows them to refill. This mechanical action is the basis for circulation support, distinct from building strength or adding another workout.

03 / The controls

The right fit makes the session yours.

Choose legs, arms, or hips/lower back according to the area you want to focus on. Fit, attachment choice, and a comfortable pressure setting matter more than choosing the strongest squeeze. The team helps you settle in for 15 or 30 minutes so you can experience the cycle while the rest of you slows down.

The science, made human

A moving rhythm.
While you rest.

Compression is one of the easiest modalities to understand through sensation: pressure builds, travels, and releases. The science begins with those mechanics.

  1. 01

    Inflate

Air fills the attachment’s chambers around the chosen area.

  2. 02

    Pulse

A programmed sequence applies external pressure to the tissues.

  3. 03

    Release

Pressure eases before the next cycle begins.

Go a little deeper

Why the squeeze matters.

Open a question to explore the physiology and the research behind it.

Can it help after a day spent standing?

A crossover study in 20 healthy volunteers who stood at work compared natural rest with two pneumatic-compression patterns. Leg discomfort and circumference improved after the interventions, with the researchers reporting greater pain relief from compression than rest. The study used a particular device and protocol; it gives context for tired-leg comfort rather than a promise about every attachment or guest.

What does lymphatic drainage mean here?

Lymph is fluid collected from the spaces around cells and returned toward the bloodstream. Muscle activity and pressure changes help it move. Normatec uses intermittent pneumatic compression—air-driven pressure cycles—to assist fluid movement. Hyperice describes the system’s pulse pattern in relation to circulation, the muscle pump, and lymphatic drainage.

Does comfortable mean fully recovered?

Comfort, muscle strength, and tissue-recovery markers are separate outcomes. In a randomized study of 45 men after demanding jumping exercise, repeated pneumatic-compression sessions did not outperform the comparison groups on soreness, muscle function, or blood markers. Use compression as a comfortable recovery choice alongside appropriate rest, rather than as a test that your muscles are ready for maximum effort.

How is this different from compression clothing?

A sleeve or sock applies relatively steady pressure while you wear it. Normatec actively changes pressure through its air chambers, creating the moving, massage-like sensation. Its pulse pattern and adjustable settings make the experience dynamic. You can explore different attachment areas while remaining seated and relaxed.

Before you arrive

A little
preparation.

  • Choose comfortable clothing that works beneath the attachments. Call if you have questions about what to wear.
  • Let the team know which attachment you want and ask about available settings.

Is this right for you?

Do not use compression if you have a known or suspected blood clot. Unexplained swelling or pain needs medical assessment. If you have a circulation condition, recent surgery, or another health concern, ask your clinician and the team about suitability before booking.
